Artistic Director

Based at the Kirkgate Centre, Cockermouth, but working throughout West Cumbria.

37 hours per week, fixed term to 31st March 2015. Flexible hours to include some evening and weekend working.

Salary: £22,000-25,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Kirkgate Arts runs both the Kirkgate Centre (the leading venue for the arts in Cockermouth) and Arts Out West (the West Cumbria Rural Touring Scheme, which provides a programme of high quality professional arts events in villages throughout West Cumbria).

As a result of the imminent retirement of the current post-holder, we are seeking to appoint an Artistic Director to manage, promote, develop and deliver the Arts Out West programme; and to take oversight and responsibility for the delivery of the programme for the Kirkgate Centre.

You will have several years experience of working in the arts, including project management, programming and fundraising; with a creative approach to problem solving. You will be energetic, enthusiastic, organised and with a broad knowledge of the arts; able to work independently; and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
