Laboratory Technician

Innovia Films is a leading global producer of speciality Cellulose and Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene films with production sites in the UK, USA, Belgium and Australia. We hold a leading global position in the markets for labels and security films, coated packaging, overwrap and biodegradable and compostable films. We employ approximately 1,350 people worldwide and are now looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician to work within our R&D OPP Process Technology Department based in Wigton, Cumbria.

The main responsibility of the job-holder would be to plan and conduct routine and non-routine experimental work. In addition the successful candidate will record, collate and report experimental data and maintain written reports of all laboratory work.

The successful candidate will be educated to HNC level in a scientific discipline or be a school leaver who has achieved a GCSE\A Level in a science based subject. Relevant laboratory experience in an industrial environment would be an advantage.

Candidates should be self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively and give good oral feedback. The ability to generate high quality and accurate data and the ability to work to deadlines is a necessary requirement of this position. Experience of different computer packages is also a requirement of this position.
