Wilderness Experiences is a registered mobile Children’s home with Ofsted.
We currently provide residential placements for up to 5 young people for a
maximum of 17 weeks. We work with young people of both genders between
the ages of 10-17 yrs. In addition, Wilderness Experiences holds an A.A.L.S licence
for a range of outdoor activities which staff provide subject to current
NGB qualifications, with an emphasis on Outdoor Learning.
The Role:
The successful applicant will be responsible for the smooth day to day running of the service and the position will be based in Carlisle, Cumbria.
Duties will include:
• Monday – Friday based at service including visiting teams and young
people in their accommodation ensuring high standards of service are being delivered
• On call Monday –Thursday in the evenings
• Implementing and scheduling rotas to ensure all young people are cared for
• Supervising staff
• Communicating with external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of
service and positive outcomes for young people in our care
• Ensuring quality of service is in line with Ofsted guidelines with a vision to
ensure continual improvement and development of the service we provide
You will have:
• A full UK driving licence
• Proven experience working with young people
• Management experience within a residential care setting
Ideally you will also have:
• NVQ Level 4 Management (or equivalent)
• R.M.A or equivalent experience as a Residential Manager of a similar service
